Why I Love My Husband….

… because he’s a damn fine cook! He’s perfected this smoker and technique that makes the most awesome pulled pork ever… The other night, he created a BBQ Pork Pizza… here’s a photo:

BBQ Pork Pizza

You can make this too, (even if your hubby isn’t the smoker extraordinaire) if you happen to have some left over pulled pork from a BBQ restaurant, or you could even use grilled chicken… here’s what you need:

– 1 roll of Pillsbury refrigerated pizza dough
– 1 cup tangy BBQ Sauce (we used Famous Dave’s Rich & Sassy)
– 1/2 chopped red onion
– 1 clove garlic, minced
– 2 cups shredded cheddar/jack cheese, divided
– 1/2 cup soft cream cheese
– 2 cups pulled pork (or alternative meat)

Pre-heat oven to temperature listed on Pizza Dough package. Roll out the pizza dough on to a baking stone, and cook naked for 5 minutes. Meanwhile, saute chopped red onion and minced garlic. When pizza dough is done, add BBQ sauce. Sprinkle on 1 cup of cheese and then Pulled Pork. Cut creamed cheese into cubes and dollop on top of pizza. Add remaining cheese. Bake for 5-8 more minutes and then broil for 1-2 minutes until browned to your liking. Slice & Serve!

  1. I showed Joan and his jaw dropped! We may try to make that one day, he said it looks delicious! I told him that was fine American cuisine! I need to meet your hubby one day, if I’m ever in the country long enough!

  2. OOH! we would love to have you– or if you are in KC, let us know, maybe we can pop down there for a mini-family reunion!!!

and, i we have more pork in the fridge, so we are doing another pizza tonight– i have been thinking about it all day! 😉
